Casa Ludy delivers an Italian experience to you. It is located in a little hamlet where a collection of old farmhouses and the old noble villa are owned by all relatives of the same family. When one relative wants to sell the place, it is sold to another, and another and so on. All "in the family" you might say. And now you can be part of the family too! Don't worry - it is a very private affair and no one will bother you there.
The original part of the hamlet includes the remains of a tower and part of the villa dating back to 1200's and at the end of 1600's the property was enlarged with the villa and gardens you see today. All the hamlet has been recently restored following old Tuscan traditions and colors. The villa and its annex are painted in yellow, all the farm houses in red Casa Ludy was renovated by a couple of artists. The lady works as scenographer and custom designer in the movie business, the husband is a very good painter. The house is equipped with the modern comforts maintaining the old charm and the rooms are tastily decorated with comfortable country furniture and artists' touch. A large traditional kitchen with marble dining table and fireplace to enjoy lovely dinners with friends, and the front pergola is equipped with table and BBQ for dining outside "al fresco." For those of you that are sticklers for paved roads - this one has a good paved road up to the hamlet, and a short graveled road to the parking area. The pool located in the olive grove is shared by the hamlet and has the views you have come here to see. Attached to the house, there is an other independent house belonging to the owner's parents with an independent entrance.
Perfect for: Families and / or couples.
The Details:
Ground floor: Living room, and dining area in kitchen with fire place. The kitchen has all the gadgets an artist or cook would want ( stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, American coffee maker etc) and a nice view from its window. One bathroom with tub/shower.

What Guests Have To Say
Casa Ludy is comfortable and spacious. It provided all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and comfortable stay. There was adequate room for our group of seven and space for the kids to play outside. Great kitchen for cooperative meal prep and a nice outdoor dining area for those warm Tuscan evenings.
-- Gloria, CA, 2004
Casa Ludy is located within easy drive distance to Lucca, Pisa, and the coastal area. It was an unexpected pleasure to be within a small, quiet, hamlet and among olive groves.
The view was incredible. Casa Ludy is perched on a hill overlooking olive orchards and the Tuscan countryside. The view couldn't have been better.
The owners parents live next door and served as caretaker during our stay. They were extremely helpful.
-- Barbara, CA, 2005
Great place and a good value for the price.
We so much enjoyed "Al Casone" in Monsagrati-on the main road just before you go up the hills to the villa.

Just east and north of Pisa through the mountain is the intriguing walled city of Lucca. The walls are the most substantial of all of Italy. Where most walled cities erected high and thin walls some 1 - 2 meters thick, Lucca created a massive moat and walls of some 20 meters thick. Large enough that it now serves as a wonderful promenade for the village people. This is a must - be in Lucca at the time of the "passeggiata" 5:00 - 7:00pm. The town strolls leisurely around the city on top of the wall and along the historic street that encircles the oval piazza anfiteatro, once the location of an oval Roman amphitheater. Julius Ceaser is said to have walked this passeggiata in 85 BC. "Passeggiate" is a delightful Italian custom. All towns and villages have one and allow the informed traveler, to rub elbows with the locals.
